GoViet to Distribute More Than 100,000 Food and Grocery Vouchers to Support Driver Partners
GoViet, Vietnam's leading on-demand multi-service platform, today announced that it will distribute nearly 100,000 meal vouchers from select GoFood merchants, along with 10,000 vouchers valued up to VND 250,000 each for grocery and other basic necessities, to help reduce daily living expenses during this the COVID-19 period.
The vouchers have been purchased through contributions from the Gojek Partner Support Fund, which was established in March under the Yayasan Anak Bangsa Bisa Foundation, and aims to make a positive difference in the lives of Gojek’s driver and merchants whose livelihood has been affected by COVID-19.
The shopping vouchers, redeemable at various supermarkets, convenience and retail stores, can be used to purchase various daily essentials, including: fuel at  PVOil’s gas stations, grocery items at Lotte or Big C supermarkets and Ministop convenience stores or online at Tiki, and beverages at Trung Nguyen and Phuc Long stores. Driver-partners can also choose to top up their mobile phones or buy clothes and necessities at retail stores such as Vascara or Canifa. The vouchers are valid for three months, and eligible driver-partners will receive a registration link and voucher code via GoViet app to redeem them.
Phung Tuan Duc, Chief Operations Officer of GoViet, said, “GoViet’s driver-partners continue to serve as selfless heroes in these challenging times. They work, keeping supply chains open and our cities moving, so that we can stay at home and practice social distancing. Our goal with these initiatives is to help lessen their burden. We’d like to thank our partner merchants, corporations, and retail organizations who have joined hands with GoViet to bring the best support to our driver-partners. We will continue to stand by our partners and work to find more ways to support all parts of GoViet’s ecosystem.”
With the same objective to support and protect its driver-partners amidst the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, in March 2020, GoViet launched GoShield initiative, which includes an insurance scheme offering the highest coverage for driver-partners in Vietnam diagnosed with COVID-19, and a program to provide free reusable antibacterial face masks through designated vending machines located across Ho Chi Minh City.
The Gojek Partner Support Fund, valued at US$6 million, aims to make a positive difference in the lives of Gojek’s more than 2.9 million partners (drivers and merchants) across the region. The Gojek Partner Support Fund is funded through multiple sources, including donations from Gojek employees and corporate partners, and a redirection of organization-wide planned annual salary increases.
In Vietnam, GoViet’s employees also provided voluntary contributions to the fund.
