Vietnam’s coal inventories have been on the decline from 10.2 million tons at the end of 2016 to around 9 million tons at end-October, but still above the level that is required to ensure energy security, according to data of the industry ministry. Meanwhile, the country is increasingly importing coal to feed its power plans.
