Vietnam’s Aviation Turn New Pages Thanks to Private Airlines
Recently, VCCI and some media channel cooperated in organizing the conference named “Building sound environment for Vietnam’s airline industry”. During the conference, there were many initiatives and ideas on how to improve the current environment for Vietnam’s airlines and creating more business activities in the future.
In the conference, Vu Tien Loc, Chairman and President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of the Central Council of Vietnam Business Associations, stressed that the airline industry is developing fastly throughout the world, especially in the developing countries. Vietnam is among those, according to Loc.
He pointed out that the development of the airline industry has close relation with the economic growth rate. For 1% growth of airline industry, the GDP can grow 0.4% to 0.5%. In Vietnam in recent years, the airlines industry enjoyed the robust growth rate of 14% to 15%, more than double the Vietnam’ economic growth rate.
Since the private airlines started operating, the Vietnam’s airline industry has turned pages. Currenly there is no more monopoly in airline business. Airlines from the means of transportation only for high income people like business people, politicians has become the means of transport for the public. The presence of the private airline companies has brought in more energy for the Vietnam’s airline industry.
Vietnam now is the member of ASEAN economic community, Vietnam joints with other regional countries in building common market and this creates more opportunities for the airline industry. The more competitive the airline market becomes, the better the services turn for.
Vietnam’s airline industry is facing up to many challenges. The biggest obstacle for growth is the lack of high quality human resource and the infastructure can not meet up the demand; next is the requirements for ensuring safety, airline security can not fulfilled.
There is still high potential in expanding the investment and business in the airline industry, the room for mobilizing human resource is big. The domestic airlines need to raise up the quality services in order to enter the new development stage.
