Vietnam’s Aviation Market Has Huge Development Potential
The International Air Transport Association (IATA), the trade association for the world's airlines, representing some 290 airlines or 82% of total air traffic, predicted that Vietnam will record fifth highest growth rate aviation in the world and highest growth rate in the South East Asian regions.
Head of Aviation Transportation Department in Vietnam’s Civil Aviation Bureau, Ho Quoc Cuong said that the potential of Vietnam aviation industry’s growth is huge. But if infastructure can develop more, the potential will be much bigger.
Professor of University of Communications and Transport, Nguyen Thi Phuong, thought that the three prerequisites for Vietnam’s aviation growth is infastructure including port systems, airplanes and air control systems.
The transmitting airport is very important in helping to meet up the domestic demand, at the same time, it helps to enhance the position and role of aviation transportation of Vietnam in the region.
When investing the regional airport, the Vietnam’s aviation can have the condition to develop to the regional level.
Chairman of Vietnam Airlines, Pham Ngoc Minh, said that the biggest obstacle lies in the aviation infastructure but this infastructure obstacle can not be solved within short period of time.
Ho Quoc Cuong remarked that the 20% growth rate of Vietnam’s aviation industry is high. But this growth has two sides of the coin. It has created the demand for the market but also create pressures for the market.
Chief Secretary of Vietnam Aviation Company Association, Bui Doan Ne, said that the the growth of the aviation industry depends on the growth of economy and society. In recent years, the Vietnam’s economy enjoyed high growth rate, thus it is logical that the aviation industry had such high growth rates.
Ne pointed out that in order to cope with the new trend, the policy makers have the roles in creating the favorable conditions for airlines companies to develop.
