This is the biggest event for Vietnamese intellectuals in Japan to meet up, and is a starting point for the journey of said community in Japan to form a network of interest and to provide mutual support system to achieve great progress and success together.
The 1st Vietnam Summit in Japan will be held at JASSO International Conference Hall, Tokyo in November 16th, 2019 with the theme "Make in Vietnam - Opportunities and Challenges". The summit is organized by the Vietnamese Academic Network in Japan (VANJ), the Vietnamese Professionals in Japan (VPJ), and the Vietnam Youth and Student Association in Japan (VYSA), and endorsed by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.
This is the largest-ever event of the Vietnamese intellectual community in Japan, with the expected participation of more than 500 guests and delegates inside and outside Japan.
Japan is now one of the attractive destinations for not only Vietnamese youth but also Vietnamese people in general because of the cultural similarities, the increasing demand to exchange science technology and human resources between the two countries in the context of globalization.
At the moment, there are over 350,000 Vietnamese living, studying, and working in Japan, including a number of intellectuals from scientists to researchers at universities, research institutes, experts at leading companies in Japan as well as entrepreneurs from many fields.
Compared to the 1990s when the Vietnamese intellectual community in Japan had only about 100 people, it can be seen that the intellectual community in recent years has made great progress in both quality and quantity.
The rapid development of the number of Vietnamese intellectuals in Japan has led to the establishment of many Vietnamese intellectual associations, notably VANJ, VPJ, and VYSA. This development places great demand on building a common forum, with the role of connecting and gathering the abundant knowledge of experts, scientists, policy makers, and business leaders.
As a result, initiatives will be taken in order to help build and develop the Vietnamese community in Japan as well as contribute to the development of Vietnam in general. This is also the motivation for the three organizations VANJ, VPJ, and VYSA together to organize Vietnam Summit in Japan this year.
Vietnam Summit in Japan 2019 will have the common theme of "Make in Vietnam - Opportunities and Challenges". With this topic, the forum would like to be the platform to connect and gather the intellectual community in Japan, together to discuss the critical problems in Vietnam and the solutions for these problems, from macro policies, to new technologies and products that can be applied in Vietnam.
This is the biggest event for Vietnamese intellectuals in Japan to meet up, and is a starting point for the journey of said community in Japan to form a network of interest and to provide mutual support system to achieve great progress and success together. At the same time, the forum is also a common voice to contribute and participate in the development of the country in the era of integration and globalization.

Especially, the first biggest Vietnam Summit in Japan is receiving strong encouragement and support from the Vietnamese Embassy as well as the National Center of Innovation - Ministry of Planning and Investment, relevant domestic agencies, and the tremendous participation of Vietnamese intellectual community in Japan.
