The South Korean firm plans to build the plant on an area of 300 - 500 hectares of non-arable land in the province’s Thach Ha district. The project will employ some 100 local laborers and will be handed over to the province after 20 to 25 years of operation.
This would be the first energy production project in the province and one of the largest solar plants in the world, according to Ha Tinh Investment Promotion Center.
Nguyen Hong Linh, vice chairman of Ha Tinh People’s Committee, said at a working session with a delegation led by Solar Park Korea’s Chairman Hyunwoo Park that the provincial authorities will create favorable conditions for the Korean firm to proceed with the project.
Solar Park Korea plans to build three solar plants with a combined capacity of over 1,000 MW in Vietnam and Ha Tinh has been chosen to be the start point, according to the Ha Tinh newspaper.
