The authorities will inspect SPVB’s production facilities in Bac Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai provinces, and Can Tho city after local media reported that the firm used unqualified water for its production, the Tien Phong newspaper cited a health official as saying.
A team that inspected a SPVB facility in the northern province of Bac Ninh concluded that the plant used underground water, which is provided by the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) under certificate of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, for its production.
The health authorities have so far not found wrongdoings at SPVB facilities and are waiting for results from the three other inspection teams for final conclusions, the official added.
In late October, PepsiCo admitted that the label on Aquafina water bottles will soon be changed to spell out that the drink comes from the same source as tap water.
