US-based MSCI Inc. has added of two Vietnamese stickers ROS (FLC Faros Construction JSC) and SAB (Saigon Beer Alcohol Beverage Corp.) to the basket for calculation of the MSCI Frontier Markets Index while deleting no stocks.
MSCI Frontier Markets Index is the underlying index for the MSCI Frontier Markets Index ETF, which invests in securities in emerging markets.
Therefore, after the first quarterly review in 2017, the number of constituents of the MSCI Frontier Markets Index has increased to 126.
Among them are 11 Vietnamese securities namely Vingroup (VIC), Masan Group (MSN), Vietcombank (VCB), Hoa Phat Group (HPG), Sacombank (STB), PV Gas (GAS), Bao Viet Holdings (BVH), BIDV (BID), Vinamilk (VNM), and the two newcomers ROS and SAB.
Meanwhile, no changes were made to the MSCI Frontier Markets Smallcap Indexes in the latest review. In the previous review, three Vietnamese stocks NTP, VSC and VHC were added to the index.
All the changes will take effect as of the close of February 28, 2017, MSCI said in a statement.
The stock of ROS increased 0.80% to close at 135,400 dong ($5.96) a share on February 9. The stock went up 0.51% at the break time on February to 136,100 dong per share.
