As the clock ticks down the last hours of the year 2015, Countdown Parties are due to be held in different locations in the city.
The traditional Heneiken Countdown Party with special performances of leading artists, Vietnamese and international DJs will take place at Ly Thai To Square next to Hoan Kiem Lake. A similar event hosted by local brewery Hanoi Beer will take place in front of Thong Nhat Park. Starting from 9pm, party-goers will be able to enjoy music from popular singers and bands and get free drinks during the event.
Meanwhile, most of the big hotels such as Sofitel, JW Marriott, Lotte Hotel Hanoi and Hotel Nikko Hanoi also have countdown parties to allow guests to welcome 2016 in style.
Art exhibition “Yu Yu Vietnam Blue” by U.S. installation painter and sculptor Mark Cooper
An art exhibition by U.S. installation painter and sculptor Mark Cooper in collaboration with Vietnamese fine art students has opened at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum on December 28 and will run through January 9. The event aims to celebrate the 20th anniversary of U.S.-Vietnam relations and to foster intercultural cooperation in developing arts education.
The program was initiated in early 2015 by Mark Cooper during his visit to Vietnam, along with David Thomas, artist and director of the Artistic Exchange Program of the Indochina Arts Partnership, and Nguyen Anh Tuan, independent curator in Hanoi.

Cultural event “Memories of Hanoi”
The Thang Long Imperial Citadel is hosting a cultural event themed “Memories of Hanoi” where foreign and domestic visitors can explore pictures of an Old Hanoi and enjoy art performances.
The event is open from 8h00 to 22h00 between December 30 and January 4, 2016, and is free of charge to the public.

The event is taking place between December 26 and January 26, 2016 at 46 Hang Vai street, Hanoi. The entrance is free.
Flower Festival in Da Lat
Da Lat town in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong is hosting the Da Lat 6th Flower Festival 2015 from December 29 to January 2, 2016. The event is taking place at Lam Vien Square and around Xuan Huong Lake with arts performances and multiple flowers being shown. As a biennial cultural event, this year Da Lat Flower Festival titled “Da Lat – Nurturing Dreams” features many interesting activities.
“Hope” painting exhibition by Pham Huy Thong
Paintings by Pham Huy Thong, 32, are being exhibited at an exhibition titled “Hope” at Craig Thomas Gallery at 27i Tran Nhat Duat, Tan Dinh ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. The exhibition runs from December 16 to January 8, 2016.
The paintings feature Vietnamese farmers and poor people in urban areas, which remind viewers of the urbanization and the gap between the poor and the rich in the country.
“Happy New Year 2016” show of singer Phi Nhung
Singer Phi Nhung, who is renowned for her folklore songs with unique style, will perform at the “Happy New Year 2016” show at Dong Dao Lounge, 164 Pasteur, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City,
The show will take place between 20:30 and 23:00 on December 31.
